Orchard Center High School opened its doors as Orchard Elementary School in 1956. Since that time the building has evolved from an elementary school to a small high school. Through the years, the building has served as an adult education school, a small alternative high school, and in the current configuration as Orchard Center High School. In 2001, a major renovation and construction project was completed to provide teens in grades 9-12 with another option for earning a high school diploma.
The school’s instructional and support staff members are key to its success. Staff members demonstrate their commitment to students by staying abreast of new instructional techniques, using technology effectively, and participating in professional development activities to improve teaching.
Orchard Center High School is committed to the success of students.
The School Motto:
The school motto, “We Are Centered on Your Success,” was adopted by the staff in 2001. It is a reminder to all that student achievement is of paramount importance.
The School Mascot:
The school mascot, a knight smashing though a shield, was adopted by the students in 2001. The knight was chosen because in the medieval times, a knight was portrayed as being a defender, champion, and upholder of causes and principles. The qualities idealized by knighthood, though the code of chivalry, can be identified throughout the school in our character education effort.
