Board of Student Delegates

Purpose:

The Superintendent meets quarterly with student leaders from all district schools to gain their perspective and receive feedback on programs, policies, and initiatives. The two-way dialogue enhances school communication and provides student voice and input for key issues and decisions impacting MPS students.

The Student Board of Delegates is comprised of students at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.  Delegates are selected based on a three-part application process which includes:

  • video submission
  • online form
  • interview via Zoom

Delegates are expected to share information between their school and the district.

Delegate Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participate in quarterly meetings, with additional opportunities for volunteer hours.
  • Communicate directly with the Superintendent and other administrators openly and honestly.
  • Share information between school and district to broaden students' understanding of school-related issues.
  • Encourage the engagement of students, families, and community members in Monroe Public Schools.
  • Serve as an ambassador of Monroe Public Schools through communication, language, behavior, collaboration, cooperation, and support.
